She instilled a love of curling in those she coached and in many the drive and ability to become champions. As an official she led the way in developing competitions to the high level of fair play that exists today. Joyce organized officiating at many Provincial, Canadian and World championships. Joyce served on the executive of her club, as well as provincial and national curling associations resulting in the betterment of the sport.
